Sell outs!

Being a sell out can be a good thing!

Congratulations to the folks at Fenway Park for securing 456 straight regular-season sell outs. This streak began May 13, 2003 and surpassed the record previously set by the Cleveland Indians at Jacobs Field June 12, 1995 to April 2, 2001.

Better than the accomplishment is their great full page ad. Kudos!

While it wasn't quite Fenway Park, we got to catch the fellas win the series against the Texas Rangers at Rangers Park in Arlington. The visit to the Promise Land (Texas) miraculously resurrected three giants from the disabled list: Sean Casey, Mike Lowell and Josh Beckett.

I leave you with my favorite photo of the series:

Dear, sweet Beckett left the barn door open during the first inning of this series debut. Pobrecito. Let he who cannot relate cast the first stone.

Wind Beneath My Wings

Red Sox Pitcher Josh Beckett is currently my most favorite athlete to watch during an interview. He's a man of few words. Brash, to the point and unmistakably cocky. Oh-- and he's Texan.

As a superfluous lover of words, Beckett is my comic relief.

Such past nuggets include: "Is that that supposed to be an allegory?" and "I don't get paid to make those [expletive] decisions."

Today's soundbite is priceless. The ace gave up eight earned runs in 2 1/3 innings.

The reporter's question is: "How frustrating a day was it?"

The ace's response can be found at the 50 second mark.

Wordsmith Beckett, you are truly the wind beneath my wings.
